What to expect from the service?
Northern Health Cancer Ambulatory Services support cancer patients, carers and families going through cancer treatments in the outpatient setting. In our Day Ward, we give patients cancer medications, intravenous and oral. We can also give treatments at home through our NOAH@Home service. Through our SURC service we help patients manage the symptoms that can happen with cancer drug.
Northern Health Cancer Ambulatory Services support medical and surgical patients, carers and families going through some medical treatments such as immunotherapies and infusions in the outpatient setting. In a Day Ward or the Infusion Centre, we give patients their treatment. The service works with Medical and Surgical Specialist Nurses and specialist doctors to help patients manage the symptoms that can happen with drug treatments.
We also provide you with information written and videos, so that you understand what to expect when you start your treatment with us.
We work with your General Practitioner to make sure that you can get help from a doctor you knows you well. To make sure you can get help after hours we work with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) and the Northern Health Emergency Department.
