Northern Health is a public mental health service, providing specialist acute, subacute, community and residential mental health services.
Public clinical mental health services are for people with a moderate to severe level of psychiatric illness, or concern regarding a risk to themselves or others as a result of psychiatric illness, or are at risk of developing a serious psychiatric illness
If you or family member require mental health and wellbeing support but don’t meet the criteria to access Northern Health Mental Health Services, there are a number of other organisation that may be able to help:

Northern Health is a Level 5 public mental health service. - Northwest Mental Health Triage (NWMH) Triage service
NWMH Triage is a telephone based assessment and support service for people in the north western areas of Melbourne who are seeking support through a clinical mental health service. The triage service which operates 24 hours, 7 days per week. This is a free service.

Northern Health is NOT a provider of specialist child and adolescent mental health services. Child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) provide specialist mental health treatment and care to children and adolescents up to 18 years of age.
These services assess and treat children and adolescents (0-18 years) with moderate to severe, complex and disabling problems and disorders, and assist those with less severe problems with information and advice about where and how to get help and facilitate referral as appropriate.
Services for Child and Youth Mental Health are provided based on the location where you live.
