FaPMI focuses on families where a parent has a mental illness. The aim of the service is to connect the whole family to the support, resources and services they require.
FaPMI provides resources, linkages and runs peer support groups for children (Champs), young people (Space4Us) and for parents. FaPMI also provides secondary consultation within the community mental health teams where there are families with a parent with a mental illness or mental health challenge.
What to expect from the service?
Consumers can access the FaPMI Program through their Community Mental Health Clinician.
Parents who have a mental illness or challenge and are not consumers of Northern Health’s Mental Health Program can contact the FaPMI coordinators for linkage into services, to be provided with resources or to refer their children into a peer support group.
