Podiatry is an Allied Health profession focused on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot, ankle and lower limb problems. Podiatrists at Northern Health utilise a wide range of evidence-based practice guidelines to assist patients with foot ulcerations, ingrown toenails and musculoskeletal issues.

Northern Health Podiatry provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services across Northern Health. We work closely in interdisciplinary teams alongside other healthcare professionals including:

What to expect from the service?

Patients can expect a high standard of evidence-based quality clinical care when accessing Podiatry services at Northern Health. Staff regularly participate in research, professional development and conference presentations to ensure their practice continues to be up to date.

We place a significant emphasis on helping patients to achieve their goals. This could include returning to work after developing a foot problem requiring expert care. The podiatry staff provide expert wound management planning and care, nail surgery procedure and biomechanical assessments.
