Emergency Department

The department provides immediate medical care for both children and adults with serious or life-threatening conditions.

The Emergency Department (ED) operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is staffed by doctors, nurses, and allied health professions specially trained to handle urgent health issues like chest pain, breathing difficulties, and severe infections. All patients are triaged on arrival to prioritise treatment based on urgency

What to expect from the service?

  •  24/7 care for both adults and children experiencing serious illness or injury
  •  Triage on arrival by a specialist nurse to assess urgency, not order of arrival
  •  Timely medical attention based on clinical priority, though wait times may vary during peak demand
  •  Access to diagnostic tests and procedures as needed for assessment and treatment
